Place a damp dish towel or cloth directly over the dent. Leave the towel on the divot and remove when dry. Finally vacuum over the affected carpet area so the fibers are sucked to maximum height. Place a damp cloth over the indentation.

Indentations in carpet usually result when furniture has been moved. Carpeting provides a cushy surface underfoot while protecting the floor beneath from potential scratches caused by furniture legs. Repeat the process until the indentation goes away. Instead use that towel to eliminate those pesky carpet dents altogether.
